I am Russell D. Hunt, Sr., and I practice criminal law exclusively. My office is in Waco, Texas, and this is where I have practiced law for over 30 years.
Until 1999, I employed my son, Russell D. Hunt, Jr., to work for me as my employee. He is no longer my employee, but each of us now have our own practice. His office is in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. We continue to collaborate and work together on a regular basis. He now has his thriving criminal practice, and I have mine. Of course, I am proud of him and what he is accomplishing. He is a fine young lawyer.
I practice throughout Central Texas and I am admitted in the Western, Northern, and Southern Districts of the federal courts of Texas. The majority of my federal cases have been filed in the Western District of Texas, Waco Division. I am also licensed to practice in Minnesota and will travel there to handle federal criminal cases. I am Board Certified in Criminal Law by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
I am a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (TCDLA), and a life member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). These organizations regularly provide continuing education, support, and assistance to their members. Additionally, they provide the ability to network with other attorneys who specialize in criminal defense.
