Diligent and Zealous Representation in Texas State Courts
I have devoted my career to defending people who have been accused of crimes and are facing fines, the loss of privileges, and possible jail or prison time. From misdemeanors to felonies, my practice includes:
- Assault: I represent clients suspected of intentionally harming or threatening to harm another person, including aggravated assault and injuries to children or elderly people.
- Drug offenses: I represent clients facing charges of drug possession, sales, distribution or trafficking.
- DWI/DUI: I represent clients stopped and arrested for drunk driving and who now face the suspension or revocation of their driver's license, in addition to fines and possible jail time.
- Gun violations: I represent citizens charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, carrying a prohibited weapon or making firearms accessible to children.
- Homicide: I represent clients who have been accused of being responsible for the death of another person. This includes charges of manslaughter, intoxicated manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and first degree murder.
- Sex offenses: These offenses carry serious social stigma. From sexual assault and rape to child pornography and indecent exposure, I will work toward the best possible result for you under the circumstances.
- Theft: I represent people charged with both misdemeanor and felony theft.
- White collar crime: White collar crime includes such charges as embezzlement, security fraud, and tax evasion.
Legal Specialization in Criminal Law
From DWI to capital murder to white collar crime, I have the experience to properly defend your rights. I am one of a handful of attorneys who has been Board Certified in Criminal Law by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. To be considered for board certification, an attorney must have been practicing for at least five years and must have spent at least three years in the specialty field.
In addition, the attorney must devote 25-50% of his or her practice to the specialty field and have experience handling a wide variety of cases in that field. Once they have been nominated, an attorney must attend additional continuing legal education seminars, receive approval from judges and colleagues, and pass a written exam.
